When I Survey the Wondrous Cross- 195

When I survey the wondrous cross

on which the Prince of glory died,

my richest gain I count but loss,

and pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,

save in the death of Christ, my God;

all the vain things that charm me most

I sacrifice them to his blood.

See, from his head, his hands, his feet,

sorrow and love flow mingled down!

Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,

or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realm of nature mine,

that were a present far too small;

love so amazing, so divine,

demands my soul, my life, my all.

Rejoice, You Pure in Heart- 15 (Verses 1, 3, 5)

Rejoice, you pure in heart; life praises to the sky;

your festive banner wave with joy, the cross of Christ raise high!

Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, give thanks and sing.

With voice as full and strong as ocean’s surging praise,

send forth the hymns the saints have loved, the psalms of ancient days.

Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, give thanks and sing.

Praise God who rules all worlds; the risen Christ adore.

Praise God the Spirit, Holy Fire, one God forever more!

Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, give thanks and sing.

All People That on Earth Do Dwell- 18

All people that on earth do dwell,

sing out your faith with cheerful voice;

delight in God whose praise you tell,

whose presence calls you to rejoice.

Know that there is one God,

indeed, who fashions us without our aid,

who claims us, gives us all we need,

whose tender care will never fade.

Enter the sacred gates with praise,

with joy approach the temple walls.

Extol and bless our God always

as people whom the spirit calls.

Proclaim again that God is good,

whose mercy is forever sure,

whose truth at all times firmly stood,

and shall from age to age endure.

All Glory, Laud, and Honor- 192

All glory, laud, and honor, to you, Redeemer, King,

to whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring!

You are a child of Israel, Great David’s greater son;

you ride in lowly triumph, Messiah, blessed one!

The company of angels are praising you on high,

and we with all creation in chorus make reply.

The people of the Hebrews with palms before you went;

our praise and prayer and anthems before you we present.

To you before your passion they sang their hymns of praise;

to you, now high exalted, our melody we raise.

As you received their praises, now hear us as we pray.

Since you delight in goodness, rule in our hearts today.

Bulletin 3 22 15

Welcome to Deltona Christian Church!   You are welcome here.  Today we observe the fifth Sunday in Lent, as we journey with Jesus to the cross.  Today we experience the tension between our joy in our knowledge that God is offering salvation to the earth and our grief as we acknowledge how badly we need it.  We offer our lives to God.

O Master Let Me Walk With Thee-602

O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee- 602

O Master, let me walk with thee in lowly paths of service free;

tell me thy secret; help me bear

the strain of toil, the fret of care.

Help me the slow of heart to move by some clear,

winning word of love;

teach me the wayward feet to stay,

and guide them in homeward way.

Teach me thy patience; still with thee in closer,

dearer company,

in work that keeps faith sweet and strong,

in trust that triumphs over wrong.

In hope that sends a shining ray far down the future’s broadening way,

in peace that only though canst give,

with the, O Master, let me live.

All Who Hunger, Gather Gladly - 419

All who hunger, gather gladly;

holy manna is our bread.

Come from wilderness and wand’ring.

Here, in truth, we will be fed.

You that yearn for days of fullness, all around us is our food.

Taste and see the grace eternal.

Taste and see that God is good.

All who hunger, never strangers,

seeker, be a welcome guest.

Come from restlessness and roaming.

Here, in joy, we keep the feast.

We that once were lost and scattered in communion’s love have stood.

Taste and see the grace eternal.

Taste and see that God is good.

All who hunger, sing together;

Jesus Christ is living bread.

Come from loneliness and longing.

Here, in peace, we have been led.

Blest are those who from this table live their days in gratitude.

Taste and see the grace eternal.

Taste and see that God is good.
